Psychotherapist

Shira Gordon, LMSW

Yael is a psychodynamic and relational therapist who believes that, as Irving Yalom wrote, in therapy, “it is the relationship that heals.” Her orientation is eclectic, drawing on psychodynamic, relational, CBT, mindfulness and narrative perspectives. With a humorous, sensitive and analytic style, Yael creates a warm environment for clients facing anxiety, depression, relationship conflict or dissatisfaction, and life transitions. She collaborates with her clients to uncover the patterns that keep them stuck and how past histories live on in the present, while always letting them guide her understanding of how aspects of identity influence their worldviews. She is honored by her clients’ trust in allowing her to support their pursuit of emotional health, authentic relationships and greater fulfillment. Yael is a lifelong student of the Russian language, studying at Harvard University and in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
